COMMUICATION

TYPICAL GYM

  • Staff that are well-intentioned, but unlikely to solve your unique problems.

  • Limited programs and processes that do not show prioritization and progression.

  • Improper form and lack of knowledge around pain, increasing your risk of injury and lack of meaningful results.

  • No focus on building your self-reliance outside of the gym

VS.

  • A professional with holistic view of your needs beyond the 4 walls of a gym that does live virtual sessions wherever you are.

  • A process that can identify and prioritize the correct problems with proper progressions.

  • A professional that can communicate with your doctor, physical therapist, or specialist to bridge the gap between fitness and healthcare.

  • Programs that emphasize education to build your self-reliance, so that you may one day not need us.

Hi! my name is Chris Greaney from Chapel Hill, NC. I am currently finishing my doctorate of physical therapy program at UNC Chapel Hill. I fell in love with helping people reach their goals when I became a personal trainer at UNC and group fitness instructor for Insanity Live. I absolutely love helping people move better, feel better, increase confidence, and improve their overall quality of life. I graduated from UNC with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with biology and chemistry minors. I then went on to build a 6,000+ video exercise library for a physical therapy app called “PT Wired” before attending UNC for Physical Therapy school.

I decided to pursue my doctorate of physical therapy after shadowing and observing patients make incredible progress that truly changed their lives. It inspired me to witness patients that had suffered complex strokes or spinal injuries ultimately regain their ability to walk! It was also incredible to watch pro athletes come back from a devastating knee or shoulder injury and then continue earning a living doing what they love.

Outside of school and coaching, I love to spend time with friends and family, cook, play video games, and do outdoor activities. Soon, my wife Abby and I will be relocating to Charlotte, NC where she too will work as a physical therapist in a sports clinic. We are looking forward to getting a dog, a house and ultimately starting a family.
I look forward to helping anyone who is ready to make changes, develop a program, and reach their goals!

TESTIMONIES

Grandmother gets to play with grand kids:

“We had the grandkids all weekend and I was aware of how capable I felt. I was so confident to pick them up, hold them, play on the floor, and still get things done around the house.”

Mary H.

I Didn't think I had that much to work on. I was wrong.

“When I was first proposed to commit to 3 months of training sessions 2x a week, I honestly thought it sounded like too much. I didn’t really think that I had THAT much to work on. I was thinking that I could do a few workouts, learn them, and go on my way. What I came to realize was how much more there was to learn and improve on.... My coach helped me realize how much more focus and awareness was required for me to have proper form on all of the movements. I was prioritizing intensity over quality, and began to realize the benefits of the coaching process and duration. I was also , honestly, a little hesitant about the virtual concept at first...I quickly realized that it was effective because my coach was such a good communicator and observer, even through the screen!”

Peter P.

“I had never worked with someone who was in-tune with my body’s needs. My coach was able to identify which joints needed the most attention and how my body-type impacted my form. I have some lingering injuries and I am now able to workout safely and intensely with confidence. I really enjoy learning the “why” behind some of my struggles with certain movements and positions and then seeing them improve over time.”

OUR STORY:

In 2016, Prizm founder Andrew Daniel left a promising corporate career to pursue his passion of fitness, starting as a personal trainer. During his time with a large gym chain, he worked up to being a Regional Fitness Director role where he interacted with thousands of members/clients and hundreds of coaches across various clubs. During this time, Andrew realized that there was too large of a gap between the care that clients received from personal trainers and the care they received from their healthcare professionals. Simply put, the healthcare providers are too busy and overwhelmed to provide more than information and recommendations and most personal trainers are too inexperienced to solve higher level problems for clients.

This experience and insight ultimately led Andrew to start Prizm Wellness, a professional virtual coaching platform that focuses on movement, mindset, and recovery methods that bridges the gap between fitness and healthcare. Prizm was founded in Raleigh, NC during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, a time that was very difficult for gyms but gave way to an exploding virtual demand. Andrew felt that with the right coaches, education, and skillsets, Prizm could make professional wholistic wellness coaching more accessible to the people that need it most. Our mission is to empower individuals to move stronger, reduce pain, and redefine their lifestyle. The clients that we are aiming to serve can see tremendous improvements in these categories in the location of their choosing. Ultimately, our vision is to promote a culture that benefits from sustained physical freedom, improved mental health, and positive social influence. The most powerful result we can provide for our clients is autonomy over their self-care. When our clients redefine their lifestyle and feel their best, they can liberate the people around them to do the same. Taking care of yourself well takes care of others, as well.
